Local Redundant Backups & Mirrored Cloud Backups

Wayfinder IT Solutions' goal is 100 percent data Integrity and protection. That's why local redundant backups and mirrored cloud backups are so important.

How We Protect Your Data

We run daily to hourly backups to local network-attached storage (NAS). This dedicated file storage enables the retrieval of client data from centralized disk capacity. Wayfinder IT Solutions' NAS systems are flexible and scalable. As you need additional backup storage, you can add to what you have. NAS is like having a private cloud backup in the office. Wayfinder IT Solutions follows these best practices to safeguard your data:

Real-Time Replication & Cloud Failover of Critical Systems

We replicate production, virtual servers, and virtual workstations in real-time from our private cloud to a target in Azure, AWS, or Google. Then, if the production environment has a catastrophic failure, a simple DNS change points production to the replicated virtual servers and workstations in Azure. We can do all this more cost-effectively than relying solely on the public cloud.

What are Mirrored Cloud Backups?

The public cloud can go down in certain regions, rendering clients without access to their environments. This has happened to Microsoft and AWS.

A mirrored cloud backup is a copy of the initial cloud backups to a second cloud region. After a backup to the cloud from the local NAS, Wayfinder IT Solutions creates an identical mirrored copy of your cloud backup in a different geographic public cloud region So, all of your data is redundantly backed up in the cloud.

This best practice protects against a single public cloud region of Azure or AWS going down (which they do). This backs up everything on the server or workstation rather than just the files and folders. Examples are:

Running a mirror backup captures your files and everything you need to get your system running smoothly in the event of a crash.

Organizations Running Mission-Critical Applications

If you're running mission-critical applications in an on premise cloud or the Wayfinder IT Solutions private cloud, replicating your production environments to the public cloud in multiple regions using a hybrid combination will support high-availability and disaster recovery should you need it.

Tier 4 Data Center

Wayfinder IT Solutions is backed up by a tier 4 data center, the most advanced type of data center, combining and exceeding the features and capabilities of tiers 1-3, including:

Because a tier 4 data center is fault-tolerant, any unplanned issue can occur without interrupting operations. Furthermore, a completely fault-tolerant data center with redundancy for every component tier 4 comes with an expected data center uptime of 99.995% per year (only just 26.3 minutes of downtime per year).

Domain, DNS, SSL, & AV

We manage domain, DNS, SSL, & AV processes for our private cloud customers. Having DNS servers on-premises can result in outages. Our DNS servers are globally dispersed, guaranteeing your DNS 100% uptime.

Virtual Server & Website/App Monitoring

In our private cloud or public cloud Wayfinder IT Solutions can spin up any virtual machine you need. For example, do you have an extensive application or a website getting thousands of hits per second? We can spin up dev and QA virtual environments on which your development team can create software.

You may have a single server that can support numerous development projects or a single development project across multiple servers. We build dedicated virtual servers for clients with a broad spectrum of needs. We are secure, flexible, and able to meet the requirements of what you are trying to do.

Managing your IT infrastructure is critical to ensure all your servers are operating as expected. Our tools monitor the virtual machines, the physical hosts, and applications in the private cloud environment. And thanks to segmented firewall rules design and DMZ’s, each virtual server is only accessible to you.
